Feminist Hackerspace Jena

We hack, tinker, and help each other

We are a women's collective who are engaged in IT

It doesn't matter if you want to hack, learn a new programming language, discuss data privacy, encryption, or open source, tinker with hardware, or something else entirely - you will find a space here. We want to have fun together, engage in our hobbies, learn something new, exchange tips and tricks, and work on and exchange project ideas.

We want to have a space together where everyone feels welcome, without feeling anxious or excluded for not knowing something. A space where new and wonderful things happen.

We all have different technical backgrounds, and many of us are starting from zero. Whether you're a student, trainee, worker, volunteer, activist, or something else, everyone can contribute, as we all bring something different to the table. We are all learners, so let us all share knowledge and grow.

Why this hackerspace is only open to women, non-binary, trans, and intersex people

Do you want to join us?

|> Our next meet is on January 20, 2020 at 7 pm

Feel free to drop by! We are open for new ideas. You don't have a plan? It doesn't matter! That's why we are here.

The meet is currently held in the Hügelstraße 27 in Jena, close to the bus stop Wöllnitzer Straße on bus route 16. It can be difficult to enter the building, so we will meet at the door and go in together. Should you come later, just write us an email and we can fetch you.

We will post meet-up dates on our social media channels, which are listed below.

Bring a laptop with you. If you don't have one, we're happy to share one. There is wifi in the room - just ask us for the password.

Please note that the building itself is not a safe space, as there are people who are not women, trans, or intersex.
